Churches in China

In our two weeks in China, only one church was pointed out to us.  David said this was one of the oldest Catholic Churches in Beijing and lots of couples like to go there to have wedding pictures taken.  (They have their ceremony and their wedding dinner in hotel restaurants.)  Sure enough, when we walked over to see the church, there was a young couple having very serious wedding photos taken.  It is said that the Chinese cry at their weddings and laugh at their funerals.
We happened to see this one Christian Church sign driving in the coach one day.  We saw two or three churches with crosses on top along the Yangtze River.  That was it...
We had local tour guides in each of the cities...two differnent ones mentioned that China has freedom of religion for all.
The red banner on the church was left from Easter and we were told it said, "Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!"
