Buddha at lunch in an upscale government run hotel...
We had to walk through the back rooms of the hotel because there was a wedding dinner going on in the main dining room. Lunch was tasty and not as spicy as the day before.

Hard Rock Cafe at supper...
A mother and daughter from Virginia Beach were going to Hard Rock Cafe, so we went with them.
Getting there and back to the hotel was an adventure...hailing a cab and communicating where to go!
There are "official" cabs and "unofficial" cabs...you can get taken for a ride in the unofficial cabs, but you cannot tell the difference from the outside. We got caught taking a unofficial one to the Cafe and he tried to rip us off. We were told by two locals it should be about 25-30 Chinese dollars (about $5-6 dollars). He tried to charge us 55. Susan (the daughter) waited until we were all out of the taxi and handed him 45 and told him he was ripping us off. We walked away...he yelled a little, but then jumped back in the cab and raced off. It was a hilarious exchange...she is very gutsy. Had nice conversation over dinner and went to the lobby of the hotel connected to the Cafe..the concierge got an official taxi for us and it was only 25 to get all the way back to our hotel. Amazing! A fun outing to say the least.
