A New Day, Lots of New Information

Learned some new things today.  In this part of the world they do not have any Good Samaritan laws.  If you help someone and they die, you go to jail.  Doesn't leave much room for people to want to help. Often they will walk around someone in need...or call for help and then just leave.  Yikes!

Also, if you hit someone - a pedestrian or someone in a car - the ambulance comes to carry them off to the hospital, and the police come to carry you off to jail.  You stay in jail as long as the injured person stays in the hospital.  Then he comes to the jail and the two of you negotiate what you will pay him.
Oh, my!  Makes me a little more nervous about driving!!!

Spent most of the day around home today...was very hot and very humid.  Everyone seems to be preparing for Ramadan....lots of big sales on, especially at the grocery stores.

Spend a lot of time talking with new friends...so many interesting people with incredible stories.

Andy still wasn't feeling great today.  I went and picked up some Clariton for him and he took a long nap this afternoon.  I made some banana nut bread again today...even with air conditioning bananas don't seem to last long.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight...made by a couple from the Philippines.  Neat people, great conversations.

Heard from the girls today,  Aimee's family was on the Big Island of Hawaii on their cruise today, and Sarah's family was at some kind of an animal park in Italy.  They fed giraffes, elephants, zebras and camels from the car!

That's all, folks.  Time to read and head to bed.  Another interesting day tomorrow!
