Lunch at Heritage Village

We were pretty hungry after our morning at the mosque, so we made our way to downtown by the shores of the Persian Gulf  for lunch.  The restaurant offers traditional Emirati cuisine through a huge buffet.
The name was Al Asalah..it was plentiful, hot, and nicely seasoned and prepared.  The dessert sweets were very tasty.  A fun experience..

We explored the shoreline and enjoyed the skyscrapers of downtown Abu Dhabi.  Heritage Village has a variety of displays, shops and a city museum.  Very nice and informative...all free, including free parking.  There are some good deals to be had!

I bought a nice wall hanging from this gentleman -  he made little bracelets for the girls...and dressed them up!

Aimee bought a couple things from this potter at another little shop.  All of the artists were kind and eager to please.  We enjoyed the Village and the museum.

Here we are at the end of the walkway with downtown in the background.  There is a long and beautiful corniche along the shoreline.

The girls talked Ryan into posing...

Aimee is perfecting her selfie skills.

The entrance to the Village...

And the present President of  the UAE and sheikh of Abu Dhabi greets you at the door!
