Today marks four weeks since we left home. We will be home in 3 weeks! How time flies!
Pretty much spent the day in the kitchen. Really missed my walk today. I went a block up to West Zone Market for some bread for dinner - that was it. West Zone is just a small local grocery store but they have yummy fresh breads and rolls every day from a local bakery. I got three loaves of Egyptian bread (no sugar) with bran for 3 Durham - less than 90 cents and quite good. I made two new recipes for dinner - pork tenderloin and a rice and bean recipe. I made my hot fudge brownies for dessert. All well received.
I did about six loads of wash through the day - some personal and several sets of sheets and towels. Oh, the life of a putzfrau!!!
Tomorrow morning at 6:30 we will be picked up by a driver from a tour company and will be heading up to Musandam Peninsula, an area in Oman. It's north of us along the coast up by the Strait of Hormuz. If it's clear we should be able to look across the water to Iran. Google it and check it out. It is supposed to be very pretty. Our 30 day tourist visa expires on Thursday so we must leave the UAE and re-enter. It should be a fun get away and a nice break.
We have already been to four of the seven UAE Emirates - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah.
If I am reading the map correctly we will drive through the other three on this trip - Ajman, Umm al Quwain, and Ras al Khaimah. It looks the the passport station is in the middle of nowhere! I'm told it is only a 2 1/2 hour trip up there - 200 km.
Hopefully we will have WIFI tomorrow night at the hotel and I can share some pictures!

Nancy, it was fun to read that you saw that beautiful moon even though you don't often notice it. That happened to me also, as I was driving home from work. We were many miles apart but looked up and saw the same thing and were amazed. It reminds me of the shepherds seeing the star indicating the birth of Jesus. I wonder how far away people were able to see that same bright star.
