More on the Great Ocean Road

Not all the pictures would go on one post...so I'm splitting them up.  I also thot of  a few other things I learned or observed along the way.

Locky asked us to be sure we gave him some publicity with:      #gowesttours

We saw Split Point Lighthouse off in the distance.  Wish we could have stopped - I love all the stories that lighthouses hold - lighthouse keepers and their families lived with hardships and loneliness but they also had adventures and freedom as well.

Port Campbell National Park is home to some incredible beauty and majestic monolith pillars.
There were many shipwrecks around here due to the rock formations and storms in the area.

These are Gibson's Stairs down to the beach.

We had lunch in Apollo Bay at Thai  House Cafe as a part of the tour.  I had curry beef with rice and Andy had stir fry chicken with rice. It was fresh and tasty.  After we had time to walk around town and ended up having ice cream at a little place that makes homemade ice cream and gelato.  Andy had their national prize winning chocolate and I had snickers.  Tasted pretty good.

The Great Ocean Road is 244 km long.  We covered the scenic northern half.  The locals claim is in the Top Ten list of scenic roads in the world!
