A little short

This pretty planter was by each of the mall entrances.  Kind of interesting don'tyou think?
Some of you out there could make this!

Finished up breakfast and started preping for supper...then took a break to run some errands...  My first stop was at a little salon in a small local strip mall - to get my hair cut.  It's been 5 1/2 weeks since I had my hair cut in Delafield, so I was overdue.  A friend recommended this family salon - as opposed to a men's salon.  The women's are a bit more private as women must take off their head coverings - not normally done in public.

I had a nice young gal from the small country of Bhutan cut my hair.  She was trained in Bhutan and worked in a shop there for five years before coming to Dubai.  Look it up - south of China, near Nepal. Looks like a pretty little place.

She did a great job shaping my hair but cut it a little short.  In a week or ten days it should be good!  I'm not complaining - it will dry faster and need less care!  She only charged me 80 dirham - about $22...for a trim.  If I had gotten a new style it would have been 100 dirham.  She did blow it dry - no cost.  It's offensive to be in public with wet hair.  It would have cost another 50 to 75 to have my hair styled. Interesting pricing.

This is the mosque on the same block as the local mall.  One stop does it all.  Most mosques have a small mall nearby.

Then I needed to go to the Arabian Center to get some things at LuLu Market. They have a good selection of Mexican food products I could not find at Carrefour.  They also had Thousand Island salad dressing and the original Philadelphia cream cheese in the 8 oz package which have not been available for weeks at Carrefour.  It is sort of random at times what they have In stock.

While at the Arabian Center I visited Daiso. It's like the Dollar Store only it is the Two Dollar store.  Most things are 7 dirham.  I got a few fun things for the grandkids....

Have been able to reconnect with a long lost friend who has been around the past several days. We met at several PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) events in Germany in the early 1990's.  Great fun to catch up.

Dinner was chicken enchiladas, salad, pepper corn, and warm buttered bread...with ice cream and homemade oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies for desser.  Turned out really tasty!

Hope your day went well...take care.
