Beautiful Day in Dubai

Was a very pretty day yesterday - in the low to mid 70s with bright sun and a breeze.  After a morning of  doing some odd jobs (washing out and refilling salt and pepper shakers, sorting and organizing the tour and mall info collections, deep cleaning one of the bedrooms) I went for a walk.  By the end of the day I ended up with 7.2 miles!

The flight pattern for Dubai International goes right over our neighborhood at a rate of 1 plane every 3 minutes.  It's not too noisy when they are coming in but it's really noticeable when they are taking off.  Dubai is now the busiest international airport in the world and Emirates Airlines is the biggest carrier.

I walked by this house .... interesting .... I'd like to know more about it.  It's so different from most around here.

I walked through Mirdif Park - they added a basketball court, tennis court and soccer field since last year.

This new building has apartments for rent right next to the park.  And then you walk by the local mosque.

I walked from there to the mall to exchange money and discovered they had put up some Christmas cheer!

Late afternoon a friend and I decided a trip to the Creek was in order.  The locals come out of the woodwork at night - the place was bustling!

Very pretty from the taxi boat crossing the Creek.

Was a fun outing spur of the moment!  Doesn't it make you want to come visit!?!
