Ibn Battuta

So grateful to have Gary, Aimee, Faith, Avery and Ryan here with us in Dubai for a week.  We picked them up at the airport  at about 1:30 in the middle of the night.  They were tired but in good spirits and glad to be here.  They slept until nearly two this afternoon.

Andy and I went to our very favorite church this morning - Redeemer Church of Dubai.  We love the people, the worship, the prayers, and the connection we feel there.  Was wonderful!  Thanks Dave Furnan for a great message and Glen Jones for great music..

After a simple lunch we all. headed off on our first adventure...to the Ibn Battuta Mall.  I'm not sure why we never studied about this man in World History!  Look him up on Google - he did amazing things all over the Middle East, China, Europe, India, and Egypt.

The Marx family loves Tim Hortons and was delighted to have dessert before supper - Timbits!  Lots of big smiles!

Ryan wasn't happy (being silly) about having his picture taken in front of the life sized elephant in the India Court.

The whole family in the China Court.

We ate supper in the Food Court.  We chose the right time - it got really busy as we were eating.  Faith and I shared a Shawarma...a first for her...and she really liked it!

Andy and Nancy in the Egypt Court.

We took the Metro - it's a long ride down and back, but easier than driving.  Came back to the house and pretty much went right to bed.  Nice day exploring and sharing more about living in the UAE.  The kids did well. Hope everyone sleeps okay.  We're off to the Creek tomorrow!
