Overnight in Khasab

The view from our room at the Atana Hotel in Khasab last night.  Quite pleasant!  You cannot see it but Iran is 60km across the water.

A large Christmas tree in the lobby of the hotel...
With a crèche set under the tree...along with a snowman and St. Nicholas!

We enjoyed a warm shower, cleaned up, and went to the dining room for dinner.  Great food and nice staff members to serve us.  Not many people around, tho we did eat fairly early.

Omani Rial (money) seemed like play money.  The exchange rate from Durham to Rial is 10 to 1.  We only had a few dollars in Rial - some left over from 2 years ago and some given to us by a friend leaving the region.  So we paid for supper with some Rial and some Dirham.  They wouldn't take coins from either currency.  Seemed a bit strange to me, but what can you do!?!

This morning we enjoyed the large buffet in the hotel for breakfast.  Was fantastic - made to order omelettes, donuts, chicken sausage, fruit,  a variety of nuts and so much more.

Nice presentation...good food...lots of Christmas decorations!

This was interesting.  A honeycomb on a rack with the honey dripping down into a trough for serving.
Talk about fresh!!!

The view out our window with the sun shining over the mountains....and lots of fishermen.

A great way to start the day!
